MUSKRAT
REMOVAL
WHERE THERE'S WATER, THERE ARE MUSKRATS
Muskrats have big buck-teeth and a long rat-like tail. They're furry and can grow to around 2 feet long and weigh up to 5 pounds. While they may look cute, these water-based rodents can cause a ton of damage, and one female muskrat could have 30 babies in a single year!
If you live near Lake Norman or any other body of water around here, you've likely encountered muskrats, or seen the damage they can cause. But did you also know that muskrats can carry many types of parasites that are harmful to humans? Give The Critter Man a call today to help rid yourself of these aquatic pests!
SIGHTS
Muskrats are nocturnal so you're more likely to see them at night. You may spot holes in the lake or river bank where they burrow in and build their homes. Muskrats also cause damage to boats, which may be the first thing you notice!
SMELLS
Muskrats spend most of their time in the water, so you're more likely to see them or the damage they cause than smell them. If you do smell anything odd on your property, especially by the water, be sure to give us a call!
SOUNDS
Primarily water creatures, the most common sounds you may hear are them going in and out of the water from your bank or dock after dusk. You may also high-pitched squeaking noises similar to a mouse, especially if there are babies around.
